Nelson is a sophomore studying biochemistry and molecular biology at Penn State. He intends to pursue medical school after college but wants to explore the research opportunities in the Bisanz lab. Currently, Nelson is investigating the effectiveness of modified Lactobacillus strains in sequestering mercury from their environment. In his free time, he likes to cook, play the piano, ride his Onewheel, and travel.
